With an academic background in archaeology, I endeavor to reach back, harkening to Paleolithic and geologic times, evoking memory and narrative tied to our common roots within landscapes and communities. In archaeological science, we understand that an artifact is nothing without context. Through bringing narrative to my work with locally harvested clay slips and a variety of firing methods, I enjoy exploring forms, textures, materials, triumphs and failures inherent in our shared human history.
